Canadian company brings e-learning solutions to Brazil's corporate market
Canada's Operitel Corp., an innovative information technology solutions provider for learning management, arrives in Brazil eyeing the potential market growth of e-learning with the expectation to make between U.S. $3 million and $4 million in the next two years.
"We decided to invest in Brazil for two reasons: one being the strong growth and consolidation of the Brazilian economy. The other reason that brought Operitel to Brazil is that we have identified a group of strategic business partners who share our vision, philosophy, and ethical values" says Operitel's CEO, Michael Skinner.
"The industry is required whenever there are changes in business and even more so when they consolidate, through training, a default message that will grow throughout the organization," he explains.
"We just arrived in Brazil, which shall be an important base for Operitel in Latin America, but we are looking to expand our business into other countries within the region," announced Skinner, who's company earned just over $7million in 2009 and also has operations in Australia, the United States and China.
According to Michael Skinner, three reasons have led the company to invest in the marketing of technology solutions for learning management in Brazil: the advancement of information technology and telecommunications, which enables the provision of a system that allows for better policies for managing people in organizations; companies within the market are seeking solutions to ensure that their employees are better trained as they are becoming increasingly globalized; the rarity of having managers of learning programs account for projects in various cities or countries.

With an average annual growth rate of 60%, and an incredible peak of 292%, Operitel invests 35% of its total revenue into research and development and another 12% goes toward expansion into new markets. In 2009, Operitel's R & D department received proceeds of $ 2.5 million.
